Not every Christian today was always a Christian. Sometimes, Christians had to find their way to the Lord via hard and difficult paths. These paths were not constructed by God but by the people making terrible choices in their lives. No matter how difficult or tragic these roads were, they have by the grace of God found their way to God.
Some Christians have deep, dark paths, which are not pleasing to God, but they were forgiven and now live Christian lives. Sometimes, single Christians who have experienced these dark pasts find it difficult to admit their past lives. Sometimes, the past proves so haunting that Christians honestly have no clue in relaying the fact of their past sins to their Christian girlfriend or boyfriend.
So at what point during a Christian dating relationship does one admit their dark past? Should Christians wait until the aspect of marriage enters into the relationship? It is highly recommended that once a friendship is created between two Christians that the truth needs to come out. One will be surprised at how stress will lift off the shoulders when there are no more skeletons in the closet during a dating relationship.

The first thing that single Christians should do is prove gratefulness to the Lord for saving them from their deep, dark past. Christians should be accepting of their pasts, no matter what the past entailed. Only when a Christian embraces their past sins, only then can they competently relay the sins of their past to others.
One great recommendation is that one should never tell things too soon. A good example of this is that while on first dates with people, one should never bring their past into the conversation. Why is this one might ask? The reasoning is that first dates are times in determining if there is going to be a second date and if one is not compatible with someone, they should not be relaying such personal information to them.
Christian couples should always allot time in getting to know one another before relaying anything about the past. Keep the conversation clear of wrongdoing while focusing on positive aspects in one’s life. Christians should always allow other Christians to view the good they have performed in life and how they are now living a life pleasing to God. After these facts are relayed and proven, the facts of one’s past can then come out to one’s potential mate while providing a much greater arena of acceptance, in accordance to how one currently lives their life.

If Christians take their time in getting to know their potential mates, they will quickly discover when the ideal time in speaking about one’s past is. Allow the potential mate in getting to know you while viewing your great character and moralistic life. Do not rush this aspect of the dating relationship.
People can easily become overwhelmed with hearing facts of one’s dark past. One’s potential mate will likely allow you to know they are ready for such conversations with the path of their questioning. Christians with dark pasts should rest assured that their path is honestly no one’s business with the exception of God. Do not throw this information out too soon at least until the relationship is placed into perspective of where it is traveling.
